Dylan is the lead research engineer at DAIR. Their work at DAIR spans several areas: research on improving the rights of AI data workers, conducting large-scale social media data collection and analysis, and building out DAIR's creative research translation. Dylan runs DAIR's Possible Futures workshops and led the initiative to create the DAIR zine library.

Prior to DAIR, Dylan was a Google software engineer in Google Research. There, they worked on machine learning research engineering in computer vision before transitioning onto the Ethical AI team, where they worked under Timnit Gebru on projects around racial disparities in computer vision, data annotation practices, and classificatory harms in dataset construction.
